Some email hosting providers, including Google, now use strings for the required DKIM TXT record that exceed 255 characters (for 2048-bit keys).
It is still possible to generate a shorter key, which can be added a bit more easily. This involves changing the key length to 1024-bit. Our system will handle longer strings, but breaks them up in the dashboard. This isn't an error and will still work.
If you are interested in using an external web hosting option, some providers that may support longer strings are:
- CloudFlare
- DNSMadeEasy
- DNSimple
- PointDNS
- Amazon Route 53
