Reasons for account lockout
As part of our security protocols, the system automatically locks accounts for 60 minutes if several failed login attempts or password resets are detected within a short period of time.
After that time expires, you can try logging in again, or send a new password reset request email. Be careful to only send one password reset request email, wait about 15 minutes for it to arrive, and be sure to check your spam folder in case it got caught there.
If you have two-factor authentication (2FA) set up
If you have enabled two-factor authentication (Authy), you will need both your iwantmyname login credentials and the additional security code from Authy to login to your account again. Updating your account password is not the same as updating or removing Authy.
If you are having trouble with Authy regarding your login, please read their help articles on lockout or account resets.
If that does not work, please let us know. We can remove two-factor authentication from your account, but it requires fairly extensive security authentication.
If you are locked out of your account and it is not a password or 2FA issue
Our security protocols may lock accounts if signals are detected indicating a risk of fraud or other security issue. If you cannot login to your account and do not know why, please let us know.
